Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos woman of epic proportion

Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos is a person of an epic proportion according to me. She is indeed an innovator,an advocate and a proven leader. Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos major has worked in all fields including education, politics and even business has been combating possible barriers to success, enacting change and also creating an environment that favors thriving. Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos was born in the year 1958 as Elizabeth Prince to Elsa Prince and Edga Prince, a wealthy family. Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos grew up in Holland, Michigan. She was educated at a private high school called Holland Christian high school located in her homeland. Afterwards, she attained her degree in Bachelor of Arts in economics. In her college education, she involved in politics. Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos was married to the wealthy Richard Marvin “Dick” DeVos Jr who is a multi millionaire. They together have four children and five grand children.

In my view, Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos is the top in charity. DeVos has involved great charity work in her life. Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos and her family is the founder of The Dick & Betsy DeVos Family Foundation. The foundation was founded in the year1989. It is a foundation based on faith, and much of its giving is faith motivated. It is centered at nurturing leadership, enhancing transformation and giving support in areas such as leadership, arts, community, justice, and education notwithstanding. The Dick & Betsy DeVos Family Foundation have given generous donations to health research, hospitals, Christian schools, arts organizations, evangelical missions, and conservatives. The foundation was ranked among the top donors in America in 2015. The foundation’s donations to education focused centers, in the year 1999 to 2014 include the donation to private Christian schools that was at least $8.6 million, charter schools which were $5.2 million, and public schools whish was $59750. Together with this donations, the foundation also donated to the grand rapids Christian high school association $2.32 million, to Ada Christian $652000 school and 458 000 to Holland schools.

Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos was elected as one of the boards of directors at the Kennedy center for performing arts in the year 2004 by the president, George w. bush. She served on the board until 2010. During this time, Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos together with her husband started a center to teach managers and board of directors on the way to fund raise and management of their cultural institutions. To advance this project, Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos donated $22.5 million to it in the year 2010. She was also very creative and ingenious in my views. Upon motivation by the Kennedy center official, she observed that institutions spent dollars training artists but not in training theaters who hire those artists. She says that her gift to the Kennedy center was to help develop human capital.
